In 2006, Hanna & Jacob Bruce took the helm of Växbo Lin. Originally founded to carry on the tradition of producing sturdy and handsome linen textiles, the small sheds and workshops, which run on hydropower, form the last surviving flax spinning mill in Sweden. All Växbo Lin products are 100% linen, woven on machines as old as a 1923 shaft loom using wooden plugs. From selecting the flax, to spinning the threads, to designing the weave/color/texture, to weaving the fabric and sewing the pieces—a community of artisans creates these products with love.
Matt Dick is the founder and creative director of small trade company. st/Co. develops their own product lines and works collaboratively companies such as Levi's XX, the Bardessono Hotel & Spa, Vanderbyl Design, Scarecrow Wines, State Bird Provisions and Blue Bottle Coffee. A protégé of Japan's Yasuo Nakajima, Matt often incorporates indigo into a wide variety of products, as well as the two clothing lines he designs each year.
NOTE: Heath Ceramics carries small trade company products and will feature
Växbo Lin items in a pop-up shop debuting Saturday, April 25.
